How the service works

Your animal is assessed first. The journey comes second.

We do not use an automated capacity calculator. Our carrier selection and run planning are based on the animal's breed, age, size, species, compatibility with other animals booked on the run and our 11+ years of practical experience.

01

Tell us about the animal

Breed and age are important because they help us determine the appropriate carrier arrangement.

02

Tell us the journey

Collection and delivery are arranged from the animal's main residence, with your preferred date and any flexibility you have.

03

We plan the load

We assess carrier requirements, compatibility, existing bookings, route and the 12-hour operating limit.

04

We confirm the quotation

Every journey is individually quoted because route conditions and operating costs can vary significantly.

Two ways to travel

Scheduled runs or an exclusive journey.

Our one-vehicle operation has flexible internal capacity, so the practical number and type of animals we can accept varies by run.

We therefore assess every booking manually rather than selling fixed “spaces”.

Capacity & compatibility

One van. Flexible configuration. Human judgement.

We configure the vehicle around the animals travelling rather than treating every booking as the same size. Cats and dogs are kept separate in shared configurations, and predator/prey combinations such as ferrets with rabbits, mice or gerbils are not placed together.

The final carrier size and run capacity are determined by Pet Taxi UK based on breed, age, species, existing bookings and our experience.

Every booking is individually assessed before we confirm that we can accept it.
